Chair 2017-2019 – Mr Philip Truskett AM
Philip is a General Surgeon with an interest in Upper GI, and senior staff specialist at the Prince of Wales Hospital, Randwick.
Philip is the immediate past President of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons and is an adviser to AusAID, a Council member on the Australian Council on Healthcare Standards and the Trauma Society of Australia and New Zealand.
Philip has worked with children in East Timor and Myanmar as a rotational surgeon with AusAID and the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons.
In 2014 he was named a Member (AM) in the General Division of the Order of Australia for his significant service to medicine.
Philip is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and the Association of Surgeons of Great Britain and Ireland.
Philip became Chair-elect of the Council of Presidents of Medical Colleges in 2016 and assumes the role of Chair in November 2017 for a period of two years.
