About us

The Council of Presidents of Medical Colleges (CPMC) is the peak body for Australia’s specialist medical colleges.

Australia’s healthcare landscape is complex and dynamic. To maintain the highest quality of medical care for the Australian community, a cross-specialty perspective is often required.

Our role is to collate our member’s views, and coordinate activities and meetings so that we can collectively influence and shape healthcare across the country. This allows CPMC to provide a leading voice in the areas such as workforce issues, quality of healthcare and patient safety, and the education and training of specialist doctors.

We maintain strong relationships through regular communication and engagement with all our stakeholders, from the patient groups through to Federal and State Ministers to create opportunities to improve specialist medical training. We deliver government funded programs and support our stakeholders and members by promoting campaigns and other initiatives. Read more about our work here.
