Implementing Rural Selection: A Guide for Medical Colleges

Developed in partnership with the National Rural Health Commissioner, this guide supports the systematic inclusion of rural origin and rural experience in trainee selection processes across specialist medical colleges.

Premised on the fact that doctors with rural backgrounds or rural training experience are more likely to return to, and remain in, regional practice, this guide aims to align college selection processes with the National Medical Workforce Strategy and support more equitable access to specialist care, regardless of where people live.
