The experience of doctors in training is central to the work of Australia’s specialist medical colleges. Colleges work closely with their doctors in training and trainee committees to understand their experiences and continually strengthen specialist medical education and training.

The Medical Training Survey released annually by the Medical Board of Australia provides invaluable feedback; and the findings of the Australian Medical Board’s 2025 Medical Training Survey, are a vital window into the experience of doctors in specialist training.

CPMC and its member colleges strongly encourages hearing directly from doctors in training and uses their experiences to continually strengthen specialist medical education and training. Doctors in training are central to the work of specialist medical colleges, with colleges engaging directly with their trainees through established committees, representatives and other mechanisms.

CPMC has recently committed to establishing its Doctors in Training College Network, bringing together representatives from every college to tackle shared training issues and exchange ideas.

The Medical Colleges and CPMC look forward to seeing the 2026 Medical Training Survey results which will be released by the Medical Board later this year.
